Axiom strengthens its procurement team with the appointment of two new members
Leading Welsh contract electronics manufacturing company, Axiom Manufacturing Services, has expanded its procurement team with the appointment of two new supply chain leaders.
Axiom’s new appointments will bring valuable knowledge and a wealth of experience to the supply chain team. Val Lewis joins the team after six years as purchasing manager at Technicolor, formally Thomson Broadband UK Ltd, where she controlled 12 outsourced manufacturing sites worldwide, including India, China and Malaysia. Dean Bailey previously worked as sourcing manager for Japanese valve manufacturing specialist, Tomoe Valve Ltd, where he was responsible for sourcing new vendors, and supporting the day to day running of the purchasing department.
Dean and Val will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing and delivering an effective end-to-end supply chain to meet customer demand while minimising risks for the company. Val will have a primary focus on cost control, inventory and customer satisfaction. Her responsibilities will include; effective management of the supply chain and liaising with suppliers, customers, and the Axiom production team.
Val said: “Axiom is a forward thinking company and my new role will be an exciting challenge because of the diversity of the product range. After being employed in the manufacturing arena for 24 years, I bring a wide-ranging skill set which can be applied to develop my team and strengthen the procurement function within the company.”
Dean will also look closely at cost negotiation, and all aspects of purchasing, while focusing on effective team management.
Dean commented: “I hope to use my previous knowledge and experience to make significant cost reductions at Axiom; and I will be looking at my vendor list to help me achieve this. Axiom is a growing company and I would like to be a part of bringing its technology in-line with the rest of the company’s processes and products.
