Who are Broomfield & Alexander?
Broomfield & Alexander are Wales' leading independent firm of accountants and professional advisors with offices in Cardiff, Newport, Monmouth and Swansea employing over 100 staff. Established in 1912, the company has a rich history and proud tradition of providing businesses throughout Wales with a partner-led service and technical expertise that is unrivalled by other independent firms.
How do you help businesses?
Broomfield & Alexander’s portfolio of accountancy and professional advisory services are normally only found in UK national firms, which helps to make the company unique within Wales. These include business support, audit, governance, tax compliance, tax specialisms, wealth management or corporate finance. From SMEs and private clients to not-for- profit organisations and other larger enterprises, the company works with clients across a range of sectors, including Manufacturing, Technology, Retail, Media and High-growth companies.
What links does the company have with the Caerphilly region?
The Caerphilly borough has been an important part of our firm’s roots since 1932, when we were based in Cross Keys, Blackwood, Ebbw Vale and Pontypool. It is also somewhere where many of our employees come from too, so from a personal perspective there is a keen interest in seeing that the area does well and is supported.
How do you view the Caerphilly business region?
The region is incredibly busy. There are lots of really good and diverse businesses in Caerphilly borough that vary significantly in size, from those turning over upwards of £10 million to smaller firms generating £50,000 or less. We have a strong client base in the area and there is certainly the opportunity for us to continue growing our existing portfolio. The region, and Wales in general, has real strength with a number of businesses doing great things both regionally, nationally and beyond. We’re very keen to support the region’s businesses and help raise their profile as much as our own, and being part of the Forum enables us to help do that.
How long have you been involved with the Forum?
We have supported the Forum and the annual awards for the last 10 years. Even though the company has grown and consolidated its smaller offices into a much larger head office in Cardiff, our commitment and support for the Caerphilly Borough hasn’t changed. We believe it is important to stay connected with the businesses and people in this area. The Forum provides us with the ongoing opportunity to meet new contacts and businesses, whilst maintaining existing relationships and support organisations.
