Managing Director of UES, Andrew Padmore, has been named as Director of the Year (South Wales) by the Institute of Directors (IOD) Wales. The award is recognition for his role in developing a successful business with sound financial aspects and a strong sense of corporate social responsibility.
The awards lunch was held today at the Cardiff Mercure Holland House Hotel. It was attended by Under Secretary of State for Wales David Jones.

The awards scheme complements the IoD’s UK-wide awards programme, with Welsh winners going forward to this year’s UK event.
Robert Lloyd Griffiths, director of the IoD in Wales, said: “Our winners and indeed all those shortlisted are exceptional in their own fields and, I suspect, would be good leaders in many other sectors.
“In times of economic difficulty, we need to celebrate success and show just what Welsh business is capable of.
“Many businesses have suffered at the hands of the recession, so it’s now more important than ever to recognise what is being achieved as they help the economy fight back.”
